A Road Map for Non-Profit Boards

I like road maps. I like knowing where I’m going even if I kind of already know where I’m going.

Non-profits benefit from all kinds of road maps. The strategic plan is the king of all road maps. Then the operational plan, then individual work plans, and job descriptions, and policies, and, …well, you get the idea.

A road map for a non-profit board of directors is important too. A non-profit might start strong with one type of board and over the life of the organization travel with several different types of boards. It is actually pretty easy, logical, and comforting to be able to pinpoint where you are on the journey.
